Red-osier dogwood (Cornus stolonifera) is a shrub with red bark that grows abundantly in damp soils. It reaches an average height of 180 cm at maturity. The stems are very flexible, while the medium-green leaves are rounded at the base and pointed at the tip. The undersides of the leaves are also slightly hairy.
At the end of May, red-osier dogwood produces small, milky-white flowers in clusters. Each cluster contains 10 to 12 flowers, making this shrub very attractive. The flowers will develop into fruit during the summer. The dogwood thus produces an abundance of small, waxy, creamy-white fruits.
